Ellen Page Biography:

Ellen Page's career hasn't followed the normal route as the actress has avoided the typical teen roles for heartier fare. Page made her debut on Canadian television at the age of 10 starring in Pit Pony which began as a made-for-TV movie and then become a series. Page picked up a Gemini nomination for her work in the Pit Pony movie as well as a Young Artist Awards nomination for Best Performance in a TV Drama Series-Leading Actress. Page also appeared in the TV series Trailer Park Boy. From there Page transitioned into roles in feature films. In 2003 Page starred in Mouth to Mouth directed by Alison Murray. Her work as teenager who meets a stranger over the internet in 2006's Hard Candy earned her high praise from critics.
Page took on the role of a mutant, winning the heavily sought after role of Kitty Pryde in the third X-Men, X-Men: The Last Stand. She followed that supporting role up with a starring turn in Juno which earned her Golden Globe, Independent Spirit, Screen Actors Guild, and Academy Award nominations.
Other movie credits include Peacock, Whip It!, and Inception.
In addition to acting Page enjoys soccer, cycling, snowboarding, and playing the guitar.

After a lull where we didn't see the Oscar nominee, now Ellen is everywhere, even in the streets of Halifax (there were frequent sightings over the summer---it's good to know despite her Hollywood schedule she still gets to come home once in awhile). She starred in Drew Barrymore's directorial debut Whip It and will soon be in Christopher (*The Dark Knight*) Nolan's science fiction picture Inception, as well as Peacock, a thriller set in the American midwest. And regarding the Halifamous nod, we don't mean to suggest that multiple winner the Divine Ms P isn't worthy, but you'd think that captaining your NFL team to the Stanley Cup or releasing the biggest and best, Polaris-Prize-shortlisted record of your career might have put Sid or Joel over the top this year. But no, the much-admired, pint-sized actor brings home the gold again.

Leonardo DiCaprio chats with Ellen Page between takes of their new film Inception in downtown Los Angeles on Monday (October 19).
Leo, 34, and Ellen, 22, have been filming for several months now, however, little is known about this film.
Recently, Batman Begin’s Cillian Murphy sat down with MTV and shared a little more about this sci-fi thriller directed by Christopher Nolan.
